Taste of Glen Ellyn – First Festival of the Season in DuPage

The first of the summer festivals, The Taste of Glen Ellyn is in its 41st year and has something for everyone! It is a 4-day event in the heart of downtown Glen Ellyn, on Main Street between Duane Street and Hillside Avenue, featuring live music from the best bands of Chicago, a variety of food from both local eateries and your carnival favorites, a business showcase, The Village Carnival, a craft fair, a 5K Run, The Community Stage which is a second stage showcasing talents of youth dance troops, singing and musical performances, martial arts, fun fitness groups, a bike demo and a free community painting project.  Approximately 25,000 visitors attend each year and is an event not to miss!

Community Painting Project: A FREE Community painting project asking all to help paint the 12 Village Flower Pots dedicated to the students of Glen Ellyn.  One flower pot will be dedicated to each school.  The painted flower pots will be dispersed through the downtown for all to see throughout summer.  Focus on Glen Ellyn will be giving $100 to the Art Teacher of the school with the most Facebook likes for classroom art supplies.  Also learn about #GlenEllynRocks, A handmade rock treasure hunt promoting community and kindness.  Paint a rock and hide for another to find.

The Y Run 5K, Super Kids 1K and Fun Run: The races will be held Saturday May 19th in downtown Glen Ellyn. The 5K race starts at 8 a.m. and the Super Kids Fun Run is at 9:15 a.m. Register at

The Village Carnival: Carnival rides will run from Wednesday May 16 through Sunday May 20 in the Crescent/Glenwood Parking. Sponsored by Glen Ellyn Village Fair Committee. $3 discounted tickets for Wednesday & Thursday available at the Chamber office, Historical Society, Library and Civic Center.
